Oh! The loading is much improved! Very nice. I’m not sure if it is an issue w/ the phone’s OS etc - but typing seems laggy in this version as opposed to the previous versions (I am editing the same 60,000+ word document).
When you open a file that large scrolling is impossible as is text selecting. But these (and the things I’ve mentioned in other comments - thanks for the rapid responses btw!) are only issues if you are aiming to build an editor capable of writing novels or other large documents.
Thanks for all the hard work, this is by far the best editor I’ve used on the iPwn yet!

Oh, btw - I’m not trying to be pushy re: issues and suggestions, just letting you know what I am experiencing - being what I would guess is a rare case (book writing on the iPwn).
Thanks again!!

I’d really like to see folders to keep files organized. This is the only thing holding me back from buying any text editor on the iPhone, really miss this from my Palm OS PDA. Beyond that having single file or folder encryption would really put things over the top,miss this since my Apple Newton with 3rd party software.
Now if Apple would just let us pair a Bluetooth keyboard….

Is current version of this app stable on iPhone OS 2.2?

Is there some reason that on the search for TextGuru in iTunes it lists the price as $.99, but when you actually click on the profile for the app it lists the price as the original $4.99?
Just checking to make certain the sale is actually live for the US iTunes Store.

Bret, the price has definitely been changed to $0.99, iTunes is just slow at updating the content of the store as the changes have to propagate across multiple regions. iTunes might still be reporting that 1.0.7 is the latest version as well, but when you get to download it you’ll find that you’ve actually installed the newer 1.5 version.
In short, it *is* safe

This app looks like just what I want, except there’s no mention of being able to use the keyboard in Landscape mode. My whole need for an extra app is that I want to be able to do that. From the screenshots it looks like you can’t. Can you clarify?

@Joel:
TextGuru has supported landscape editing since v1.0.1! And by the way, you should take a look at the screenshots for the 1.5 release, 1.0.7 is a 2-month old version. The 1.5 blogpost also has a screenshot of landscape mode in action if you’re interested.
